About MeI grew up in Salt Lake City, Kearns to be exact. I graduated from Kearns High School way back in 1994. I attended college at Ricks (now BYU Idaho), and Utah State University in Logan. I graduated with a BS in Special Education K-12. I taught secondary special education for 1.5 years, at Brigham City High School. I married Bryant in 1997 and we have 4 children: Jake (15) , Clay (13), Addie (11), Cora (9). I took a break from teaching while we raised our kids for a bit and then when our youngest was in kindergarten I started substitute teaching, the next year I taught Extended Day Kindergarten, and the last two years I have taught 2nd grade. I completed courses to further my education the last 2 years so that I am qualified to teach Elementary Education along with special Education. I love teaching! My favorite part about teaching is when the light bulb goes on in a student and they understand what we are learning! Their stories and cute personalities sure are fun too!
My family loves to be outdoors, we love going to Lake Powell and spend a lot of our summer there. We love to camp, fish, hike and hunt as well. We also have beehives that we take care of, about 200 hives. I like to share this with the students to help them learn about life cycles and also tell them about the work ethic of bees and what it takes to run a business. I also love to run and have ran a few marathons, half marathons and relay races. My favorite distance is for sure a half marathon. |
